Display
On first look, Amazfit Bip U looks stunning, at least to someone who is coming from smart-bands or someone owning his/her first smartwatch. It offers 1.43″ TFT Color display, which does not cover whole screen. Below display, there is Amazfit branding, which most of us might have wished not to be there. But in day-to-day use, it does not bother. Screen display is crisp, 320×302 pixel resolution creates an exquisite visual display, making all incoming calls, messages, and reminders extremely clear.
Watch Faces & Sport modes
There are 50 watch faces available to suit your mood and outfit. You can also upload your own photos for a more personalized watch face. The Bip U also supports animated watch faces that make every glance at your watch a unique experience. To access watch faces, You need to connect your watch with Zepp app via your smartphone.
Also there is Customizable Watch Face Modular which allow you to display information important to you, such as time, date, weather, heart rate, and more. Weight of watch is just 31g, thus very light and you will barely feel it. For sport enthusiastic, there are 60+ sports modes which help you to track your exercise data to help you to workout better. You can check your walking distance, speed, heart rate changes, calories burned, and other key factors such as whether you are exercising in your fat burning zone or cardiopulmonary strengthening zone based on your heart rate, as well as providing instant alerts when your heart rate gets too high. It’s also Water-resistant up to 50 meters, you can wear the Bip U for swimming and it will track your movements and record your achievements even under water.
SpO2 Monitoring
This smart watch is equipped with a newly upgraded biological optical tracking sensor, the BioTrackerTM 2, that supports measurement of blood-oxygen saturation. When feeling unwell, under mental stress, engaged in intensive workouts such as marathons and gym sessions, or in high-altitude and hypoxic environments, you can immediately measure your blood-oxygen saturation and understand your physical state. In this Covid-19 pandemic era, this is must have feature. In real world testing, you can say that its 90-95% accurate when compared with proper Oximeter.
Sleep Monitoring
The Amazfit Bip U also monitors your sleep stages, including those of deep sleep, light sleep, REM, awake time, and afternoon naps. It also interprets the characteristics to provide you a sleep quality score and insights for improvement. As per our testing, on an average it detect sleep data accurately, but sometimes it showed sleep duration as 15+ hours when after waking up in the morning, watch was kept aside on table and checked only in the evening. This happened only once though.
Heart Rate Monitoring
The Bip U can maintain continuous 24-hour heart rate monitoring with its Huami-proprietary BioTrackerTM 2 PPG biological optical sensor. We checked this on different individuals, after idle state and after running or skipping, and it gave accurate measurements on an average.
Other features it offers are Stress monitoring and Menstrual Cycle monitoring which are great features. Apart from this, it supports all standard notifications, Weather details and quick access to your music. All of this you can control via Zepp mobile app.
Battery life
Amazfit claims 9 days of Battery life with this watch. We got approx. 8.5 days with Continues heartrate monitoring on. So good job Amazfit.
