In Nov-2020, Apple introduced its first generation Macs with M1 Chip inside. The performance per Watt offer by M1 Macs is outstanding. If we compare the M1 Macs with Intel processor Macs, then Intel processor power consumption is approx. 3 times to the M1 chip. The beefed-up 2020 Mac Mini M1 consumes 39W under high load, whereas the beefed-up 2018 Mac Mini with a six-core Intel Core i7 inside can pull 122W of power under load. At idle, a 2020 Mac Mini sucks 7W, whereas its predecessor devours 20W of power.
These are very exciting numbers and the reason that Scaleway started working on M1 Mac Mini offering in 2020 and announced it officially in Feb-2021. Scaleway Apple silicon M1 as-a-Service is built using the latest generation of Apple Mac mini hardware (fifth generation). They are powered by Apple’s M1 silicon, a powerful 8-core CPU running at up to 3.2 GHz. They are also equipped with a 256 GB SSD and 8 GB of RAM for towering performances and revolutionary power efficiency.
Apple silicon M1 as-a-Service is designed for developing, building, testing, and signing applications for Apple devices, including iPhones, iPads, Mac computers and much more. Mac mini M1 uses an advanced neural engine for up to 15x faster machine learning. Currently all our Mac minis are running the latest macOS: Big Sur (11.1).

Same like AWS offering, due to license constraints minimum lease for Apple silicon M1 as-a-Service is 24 hours. Thus making it approx. €2.4 or in INR ₹208/- (without taxes). This is very good offering considering how much new Macs will costs if you buy new one. M1 Mac Mini base model will cost you ₹64,900/- and M1 MacBook Air will cost you ₹92,900/-. If you talk about base M1 MacBook Pro, then it will cost you ₹1,22,900/-.
