This security update address issues around AppleScripts, Audio, Bluetooth, ColorSync, CoreGraphics, FileProvider, iCloud, Graphics, Kernel & I/O. It address major security issues which can give elevated privileges to execute arbitrary code exploiting security flaws. To be specific, it address 11 privileges related issues, 8 execution related issues & 3 Code executions.

How can You update to Big Sur 11.6.1
Go to System Preferences -> Software Update. Here you will see the available updates for your Mac. It might be possible that there will be macOS Monterey update is already available which is around ~12.2 GB, but better to avoid it, due to current know issue with it. You can see, there will be option showing ‘Another update is available’. Click on ‘More Info’, Select Big Sur update option and proceed with Install. Normally update size is around ~2.6 GB and depending on your internet speed, it may take anywhere around 10 min to 30 min to download it. Once downloaded, it will ask for your confirmation to install and once you confirm, full installation with Mac reboot may take anywhere around 10 min to 20 min.
Once update is installed, Mac will be restarted and you are done. Login with your credentials and enjoy your updated Mac.
